Random Ramblings, Ladies Day, Elections Coming!

Hello people!
Typical Kenyan...
This weeks post will just be mostly pictures, with alittle explaining about what we did...the week was very normal so your not missing a lot, by not getting the day by day update. just saying.
Also, as most of you might know by now, I planned a short notice trip to the states, from July 17th - Aug. 5th so I'm rushing around to get everything done I want to get done before I go to the states, so quite frankly this lousy writer doesn't have time to keep a journal these days thus this little letter.
I cant wait to go to the states, although I know I'll miss home here like crazy, an my friends here think 2 weeks an 4 days is way too long to be away. I'm planning to be in my home church the last week end in July.
Anyway, this week was fairly normal, like I said before.
On Sunday we had a ladies day, we hesitate to call it a "Mother/daughter" day with so many orphans in the church, so we had a ladies day, an Stacy went with us to help us pull off the day's events.

At Victors house for supper with some other youth, an his girlfriend.
After the usual church service, we took all the dresses that we got from the generous church people from home, an let each of the ladies an girls pick out a dress, what fun! they were so grateful for you people from America who sent dresses for them! some of the orphans girls that come to church, had to wear tee-shirts under their dresses because the zipper was not working, an the front of the dress would slide down, an they had to throw it over their shoulder repeatedly! I felt so sorry for them, an to see the looks of sheer delight on their faces to get a dress from America with no holes in it, was just incredible! so thanks a lot for sharing from your closets to our church people.
After dividing the dresses, we had a little snack of popcorn, mondozies, an chia.
then we headed home, we got home around 3:30pm which was actually surprisingly early.
The last robbers climbed these poles an tilted the camera's down, they won't be doing it again.
Marlin's were just leaving for Nairobi with Joes when we got back, flying back to Greenville Tn. after taking care of Joseph's church while they are on furlough, Joe an Glenda will be staying in Nairobi waiting for Wayne's who are returning from their 6 week furlough to the states, on Wednesday.
Joseph's come back in 2 weeks.
So yesterday was "family Day" so our family decided to go to Rusinga island, an Island that is close to us.
We took Stacey along with us, since she didn't have anything going on, an Rhoda was with her visitors.
We had an amazing day! we drove on the fairy an crossed the span of water to the island about a 45 min ride, then we went to an amazing resort there, an had lunch there by the water, it was so beautiful an relaxing! then after lunch Stacy an I rented Kayak's an went way out on the big lake, while my brothers thought that to be too boring an rented a jet ski close by...however riding those big waves in a little kayak was the most awesome thing I have done in a long long time! Mom was on the shore worried stiff that I would have a seizure while I'm out there, but thankfully all turned out well, an I enjoyed myself so much!!
Steve finishing up his work for the day...
The elections over here are gearing up...pray for us, as we wait them out, Rhoda an I are flying back just days before elections so pray all could go okay, usually the riots happen after the elections, so we are hoping for the best.
We are stocking up on food, for people, chickens, an dogs, since going outside of the compound during elections is not recommended. We pray it can be peaceful, in 2008 it was really bad, so everyone is a little apprehensive. But we trust God will keep us safe, if it is his will.
Okay, let me stop my ramblings now...I'll add some pictures an try to explain them to you.
Have a wonderful week...Hope to see some of you all in several weeks! SO excited!

(P.S I'm so sorry for these awful quality pictures, my camera got worse then ever recently, so I'm hoping to purchase a new one when I return home.)

I'm here handing out some wash clothes to the ladies that Margi sent over.

If not constructed carefully, a day can turn into a nightmare, if your handing out something free.
